ABSTRACT
Quel fut l’impact de la Révolution sur le roman féminin d’expression française? Pour tenter de répondre à cette question je propose l’analyse des romans qu’Olympe de Gouges, Isabelle de Charrière, Mme de Flahaut, Mme de Genlis et Sophie Cottin publièrent dans la dernière décennie du XVIIIe siècle. Bien que publié en 1792, Le Prince philosophe fut écrit en 1788. Olympe de Gouges, qui fut exécutée en 1794 pour ses opinions anti-robespierristes, publia ce roman un an après sa célèbre Déclaration des droits de la femme et de la citoyenne qui revendiquait les droits civils et politiques des Françaises.
